Heroes Proceeds To Help Provide Community Mental Health First Aid Training

Posted 09/29/2017

Proceeds from the 2017 Heroes of Mental Health Luncheon will support the local Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training program that teaches the early signs of mental illness, anxiety, depression and addiction.

Mental Health First Aid is a groundbreaking public education program that helps the public identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses, substance use disorders.

MHFA classes started in 2009, and have trained more than 4,200 people in the region.  Those trained include law enforcement, faith-based organizations, schools, military and medical students.  Last year’s Heroes event raised more than $18,000 for MHFA.

The Heroes of Mental Health Luncheon will take place Nov. 2 at the Broadmoor Hotel.  Visit www.AspenPointe.org/Heroes to learn more or to purchase tickets.
