Government interest into mental health has been steadily increasing over the years, and in 2001 former President George Bush launched the New Freedom Initiative. The work of the New Freedom Commission on Mental Health is a key component of the initiative.

In its final report, the commission called for nothing short of fundamental transformation of the mental health care delivery system in the United States -- from one dictated by outmoded bureaucratic and financial incentives to one driven by consumer and family needs that focuses on building resilience and facilitating recovery.

AspenPointe works with third party insurers, TRICARE and Medicaid to meet the needs of the entire community. Several federal, state and local grants are in place to finance behavioral health projects and programs.
