Event Details:Mental Health First Aid is an award-winning training program for members of the public with little-to-no knowledge of mental health issues, and teaches how to support someone in a mental health crisis situation or who is developing a mental disorder. Mental health first aid training can assist in early intervention and in the on-going community support of people with mental illnesses. The 12-hour training is divided into two six-hour days. Please note that you must attend the entire 12-hour course in order to receive certification.
Topics discussed during the training include depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, nonsuicidal self-injury and substance use disorders.
The cost of the training is free but you MUST pre-register by contacting Sue.Readnour@aspenpointe.org. The usual $50 charge is waived due to a generous donation for this training initiative. A manual and lunch is provided.
SPACE IS LIMITED TO 35 PARTICIPANTS
