Family Group Conferencing
Individuals may lack the communication skills to effectively achieve positive outcomes in difficult family situations.
Family group conferences are used when families are struggling with communication, family/home dynamics, meeting expectations, and/or appropriate boundaries. These conferencing mediations give families a true opportunity to use restorative justice practices as a tool to facilitate communication and to help all involved to come to agreements that are reasonable for everyone. Conferencing gives all involved a voice, an opportunity to be heard, and the support in creating expectations that all family members can meet in hopes of fostering improved communication and relationships between all parties.
