Many people who suffer from anxiety have an unrealistic view of their problems. They are usually tired or they have trouble falling or staying asleep because of the constant worrying.
Some of the signs and symptoms of anxiety are:
- Excessive, ongoing worry and tension,
- Restlessness or a feeling of being "edgy"
- Irritability, sweating and headaches.
Individuals with anxiety tremble also are startled easily. Constant worrying makes them feel nauseated. They have to use the bathroom frequently and they usually complain of very painful muscle tension.
Individuals with anxiety often have other anxiety disorders (such as panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and phobias), suffer from depression, and/or abuse drugs or alcohol.
At AspenPointe we help our clients with anxiety by using cognitive behavioral therapy: This type of therapy helps limit distorted thinking by looking at worries more realistically.
