Jail Diversion
The Criminal Justice Center in El Paso County is seeing more and more people in the system (jail) who have untreated mental illnesses and would benefit from treatment to prevent recidivism.
Pretrial/post-sentenced inmates in the El Paso County Jail who have a history of recidivism in the jail system for the past twelve months, history of being placed in a mental health alert while in El Paso County Jail, diagnosis of moderate to severe mental illness, which may co-occur with a substance abuse disorder. Services provided under this program include individual therapy, vocational services and case management.
Eligibility Criteria:
Must be an inmate in El Paso County Jail with a history of recidivism in the jail system for the past twelve months, history of being placed on a mental health alert (suicidal) while in El Paso County Jail and have a diagnosis of moderate to severe mental illness (may include co-occurring substance abuse).

The Jail Diversion Project is possible through the funds authorized by the Colorado General Assembly HB 07-1359.

Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
