AspenPointe Hits the Road with Wellness Wheels & Speakers’ Bureau
Posted 01/12/2012
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO— AspenPointe is launching a community tour designed to educate the public about its continuum of care and whole-person approach to health and wellness along with a Speakers’ Bureau that provides experts in a variety of issues facing the community: mental health, wellness, joblessness, substance abuse and lack of education.
Wellness Wheels is hitting the streets Jan. 19, and every third Thursday, touring AspenPointe facilities that highlight programs and services designed to treat the whole person. The tour begins at the AspenPointe Café at the Citizens Service Center, a social enterprise that puts the disadvantaged and disenfranchised back to work and teaches culinary skills to students in need of marketable job skills.
The tour then moves through a continuum of care, culminating at the Adult & Rural Services location where AspenPointe is on the forefront of the medical home movement. It is a place where clients can receive therapy, physical care from a nurse practitioner, medication management and pursue career goals and self-improvement at the ACCESS Center, a consumer-driven training and support center with creative programs in art and photography.
“We hope this tour will provide insight into AspenPointe’s wellness philosophy that treats each individual as a unique person on a journey,” said President & CEO Morris L. Roth. “We like to pull up alongside folks wherever they are and help them achieve their highest potential.”
Enjoy coffee and pastries from a renowned pastry chef and a brief presentation from a member of the AspenPointe leadership team. The tour begins at
9 a.m. and ends at 12 p.m. and is open to the public. Tours are the third Thursday of each month. Please call
